Your love ones will be more than impressed. The name Honeybell means love as well as good taste.  Show how much you love someone special with the great taste of sweet Florida Honeybell oranges.

Some folks believe that this succulent fruit originated over 3000 years ago in South Asia. From there it was replicated here in the States in the late 1800's by two doctors known as Dr. Swingle and Dr. Webber. The Indian Citrus Region near the Florida Eastern Seaboards is the home of the Florida Honeybell orange now.

Like many citrus fruits, the Honeybell orange produces well in the State of Florida due to the environmental conditions.  Florida is known for its warm climate, especially during the day time hours.  It tends to be cooler at night. The soil in the Indian Citrus Region is rich and clean. Florida also enjoys a generous amount of rain. Only a few unique groves located near the Indian River are equipped to grow the fruit.  This makes these luscious fruits very rare.

What most Honeybell orange lovers don't know about this delicious fruit is it's actually not an orange at all. In fact, the Honeyell orange is a tangelo. It is an inheritor of the tangerine and the grapefruit. Yet, the Honeybell orange is considered a seedless fruit. What makes the Honeybell orange different from its relatives is that it packs a lot of juice. It is considered to be a very sweet fruit by most and it is not available in most local markets.

This is primarily because the Honeybell orange is only harvested once a year. Nevertheless, the demand for this magnificent fruit is high and continuous. Though the Honeybell orange is not really an orange, its sweet, juicy orange-like appeal is craved by many.
