Hale’s 50th Anniversary Season was One to Remember

It’s hard to believe summer is here already, but that’s probably because this season flew by as we celebrated our 50th anniversary. The fun began last September when we kicked off festivities by announcing the $100,000 Sweepstakes.(Look for details in our Fall Catalog.)

That was followed in October with two outdoor receptions at our offices here in Wabasso. Attendees included local dignitaries, community leaders, a “hall of fame” of past Hale Grove employees plus our current employees. The events were hosted by Steve and Polly Hale, who reminisced about those days 50 years ago when they first started in business with little more than a dream.

In January, the local daily newspaper published a 50th Anniversary magazine insert about Hale Groves. It included a history of the company with stories about the old days. That prompted quite a response from folks in our area, which was especially pleasing, and we truly enjoyed hearing from so many friends, both old and new.

In February we sponsored a celebrity golfing event shared by some of baseball’s legends and local residents to raise money for local charities.

It’s been an exciting 50 years and a wonderful celebratory season. Of course, none of the celebrating kept us from our most important job, growing the world’s finest citrus fruit and shipping it to the people most responsible for our 50 years of success- our customers. Our entire Hale family appreciates your patronage.
