{"id":41042,"date":"2013-12-28T23:56:00","date_gmt":"2013-12-28T23:56:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.halegroves.com\/blog\/recipe\/stuffed-cornish-hens-orlando\/"},"modified":"2022-02-11T12:02:37","modified_gmt":"2022-02-11T12:02:37","slug":"stuffed-cornish-hens-orlando","status":"publish","type":"cuisine-recipe","link":"https:\/\/www.halegroves.com\/blog\/recipe\/stuffed-cornish-hens-orlando\/","title":{"rendered":"Stuffed Cornish Hens Orlando Recipe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900\">INGREDIENTS<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">3 tablespoons unsalted butter or margarine<br \/>  1\/4 cup celery, finely chopped<br \/>  1\/2 cup onion, finely chopped<br \/>  1 clove garlic, minced<br \/>  1 teaspoon dried leaf tarragon<br \/>  2 cups whole wheat bread cubes toasted if desired<br \/>  1 teaspoon orange peel, grated<br \/>  3 each <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Hale oranges<\/span>, peeled and sectioned<br \/>  1 8oz can water chestnuts, drained, finely chopped<br \/>  4 cornish game hens<br \/>  1\/2 cup <\/span><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">Hale orange juice<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900\">PREPARATION<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Saute&acute; celery, onion, garlic and tarragon until onions are translucent.<\/span> <span style=\"font-size: small\">In a large bowl, combine onion mixture, bread cubes, orange peel, orange sections and water chestnuts. Mix well. Stuff each hen lightly with approximately 1 cup stuffing. Place hens in a shallow baking dish. Bake for 1 hour or until hens are tender.
