{"id":41057,"date":"2013-07-26T21:08:00","date_gmt":"2013-07-26T21:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.halegroves.com\/blog\/recipe\/spiced-orange-and-pears\/"},"modified":"2022-02-11T12:02:39","modified_gmt":"2022-02-11T12:02:39","slug":"spiced-orange-and-pears","status":"publish","type":"cuisine-recipe","link":"https:\/\/www.halegroves.com\/blog\/recipe\/spiced-orange-and-pears\/","title":{"rendered":"Spiced Orange and Pears Recipe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900\">INGREDIENTS<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">3 each <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Hale oranges<br \/>  <\/span>1 1\/4 cups sugar<br \/>  1 cup water<br \/>  2\/3 cup cider vinegar<br \/>  10 each whole cloves<br \/>  2 each cinnamon sticks<br \/>  1 tablespoon fresh ginger thinly sliced<br \/>  1 each large firm pear, cored and thinly sliced(unpared)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900\">PREPARATION<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">Place whole, unpeeled oranges in medium saucepan; cover with water; bring to a boil. Boil 20 minutes or until skins are easily pierced with a fork. Drain. Cut each orange into 8 wedges.<\/span><\/span>&nbsp; <span style=\"font-family: Tahoma\"><span style=\"font-size: small\">In same saucepan, combine sugar, water, vinegar, cloves, cinnamon and ginger; stir over low heat until sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil; add orange wedges, reduce heat, simmer 15 minutes. Add pear slices; cook 5 to 8 minutes or until tender. Cool. Cover. Chill.
