{"id":41093,"date":"2012-09-26T11:05:00","date_gmt":"2012-09-26T11:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.halegroves.com\/blog\/recipe\/orange-yogurt-pancakes-with-strawberries\/"},"modified":"2022-02-11T12:02:43","modified_gmt":"2022-02-11T12:02:43","slug":"orange-yogurt-pancakes-with-strawberries","status":"publish","type":"cuisine-recipe","link":"https:\/\/www.halegroves.com\/blog\/recipe\/orange-yogurt-pancakes-with-strawberries\/","title":{"rendered":"Orange Yogurt Pancakes with Strawberries Recipe"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">PREPARATION<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma\">Toss 1 cup hulled and sliced strawberries, in a bowl, with 2 teaspoons sugar and let stand for half an hour.<\/span>&nbsp; <span style=\"font-family: Tahoma\">Rub the skin of an orange with 3 large sugar cubes until the cubes are orange colored, then dissolve the cubes in 1\/3 cup orange juice, crushing them with back of spoon.&nbsp; Add to this &frac34; cup of plain yogurt, 1 egg, and 2 tablespoons melted and cooled unsalted butter or margarine and beat the mixture until it is well combined; stir in 1 tablespoon finely grated orange peel.&nbsp; In another bowl, sift together 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, &frac12; teaspoon double-acting baking powder, and &frac14; teaspoon salt.&nbsp; Add the yogurt mixture and stir until well combined.&nbsp; The batter will be thick.&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma\">Heat a heavy frying pan over moderately high heat, until hot, and brush generously with melted unsalted margarine.&nbsp; Spoon tablespoons of the batter on to the pan, spreading each pancake carefully to make a 3 inch round.&nbsp; Cook pancakes for 1 to 2 minutes or until tops are bubbly, then turn them over and cook for about 1 minute more, until golden brown.&nbsp; These can be kept warm in a preheated 200 degree oven, but are even better served right away!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma\">Arrange pancakes on each plate, garnish with a spoonful of yogurt and sliced strawberries, and grated orange rind.&nbsp; Serve with warm maple syrup.<br \/>  YIELD:&nbsp; 4 servings.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma\">Note:&nbsp; Minted grapefruit juice is good served with the pancakes (if you happen to have fresh mint leaves).&nbsp; Make a syrup with &frac12; cup water, &frac14; cup sugar, and 2 tablespoons minced fresh mint leaves.&nbsp; Simmer for 5 minutes then let the syrup sit, covered for 20 minutes.&nbsp; Combine the syrup, strained, with 4 cups <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: 10pt\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.halegroves.com\/navel-oranges-and-ruby-red-grapefruit\/p\/halenavelorangesandrubyredgrapefruit\/\"><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma\">grapefruit juice<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma\"> and chill.&nbsp; Serve with mint leaf garnish. <br \/>  <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","template":"","tags":[44],"cuisine-recipe-category":[57],"cuisine-recipe-course":[],"cuisine-recipe-cuisine":[],"class_list":["post-41093","cuisine-recipe","type-cuisine-recipe","status-publish","hentry","tag-navel-oranges","cuisine-recipe-category-condiments"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/blog2.halegroves.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/cuisine-recipe\/41093","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/blog2.halegroves.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/cuisine-recipe"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/blog2.halegroves.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/cuisine-recipe"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blog2.halegroves.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blog2.halegroves.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=41093"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/blog2.halegroves.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=41093"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blog2.halegroves.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=41093"},{"taxonomy":"cuisine-recipe-category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blog2.halegroves.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/cuisine-recipe-category?post=41093"},{"taxonomy":"cuisine-recipe-course","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blog2.halegroves.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/cuisine-recipe-course?post=41093"},{"taxonomy":"cuisine-recipe-cuisine","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blog2.halegroves.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/cuisine-recipe-cuisine?post=41093"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
