{"id":41435,"date":"2019-11-04T13:42:00","date_gmt":"2019-11-04T13:42:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.halegroves.com\/blog\/recipe\/pear-crisp-recipe\/"},"modified":"2022-02-11T12:03:16","modified_gmt":"2022-02-11T12:03:16","slug":"pear-crisp-recipe","status":"publish","type":"cuisine-recipe","link":"https:\/\/www.halegroves.com\/blog\/recipe\/pear-crisp-recipe\/","title":{"rendered":"Pear Crisp Recipe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>How to make Pear Crisp<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Prep Time: 20 mins<\/p>\n<p>Cook Time: 45 mins<\/p>\n<p>Yields: 4 servings<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>4 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.halegroves.com\/pears\/c\/ft_1001_13\/\">Hale Groves pears<\/a><\/li>\n<li>2 teaspoons vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 cup brown sugar, divided<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup + 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, divided<\/li>\n<li>2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 teaspoon ground ginger<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup butter<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon kosher salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup oatmeal<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 350-degrees F and butter a baking dish.<\/li>\n<li>Peel the pears, cut in half, and then use a spoon or a melon baller to remove core\/seeds. Slice lengthwise into about 6 to 8 smaller pieces.<\/li>\n<li>Place cut pears in a bowl and toss with the vanilla extract.<\/li>\n<li>To the bowl of pears, add 1\/4 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger, toss again to coat pears well. Place coated pears in baking dish.<\/li>\n<li>In a bowl combine the butter, the remaining 1\/2 cup brown sugar, the remaining 1\/2 cup all purpose flour, the remaining 1 teaspoon cinnamon, salt and oatmeal. Use your hands to mix if needed to incorporate butter well with the other ingredients.<\/li>\n<li>Spread mixture over the pears in the baking dish and bake for 35-45 minutes, or until pears are very tender, and the top has browned.
