Glen Navel Orange Tree callout

Glen Navel Orange Tree

Grow your own, ultra-juicy navels!

Are you a huge fan of Navel Oranges? How about growing your own, then? The Glen Navel Orange Tree (a variant of the popular Washington Navel that most orange-lovers are familiar with) was developed in the 1950s at Glen St. Mary’s Nursery in Jacksonville, Florida, and immediately took the citrus world by storm thanks to it juiciness and delightfully sweet flavor.

Smaller and self-pollinating, the Glen Navel Orange Tree does well in USDA Growing Zones 9-11, and can even be kept in a large pot as a patio tree and brought indoors in colder climates. This attractive tree has deep green leaves and delicately scented white flowers; the bright orange fruit comes into season November through January.

  • Orange tree with deep-green leaves and fragrant white flowers
  • Tree produces medium-large, juicy, easy-to-peel fruit with a sweet flavor
  • Self-pollinating tree doesn’t need a companion tree to produce fruit
  • Cold-harder in USDA Growing Zones 9-11 or keep as a patio plant in a pot
  • A great tree for smaller yards, or keep potted and move it indoors during cold weather
