Control Your Weight with Florida Oranges

While it is inevitable that everyone needs to snack in between meals, the key is learning how to consume healthy snacks. One way to do that is choose Florida oranges instead of reaching for a piece of cake or box of cookies. Do not be fooled-it will not be easy, but you have to make up your mind to control your weight by reach for a Florida orange instead of a snack full of empty calories. Even if you don’t have a weight problem at the present time, you want to remember that as you age your metabolism will slow down and make it easier to gain weight even if you don’t consume any additional food. You can reduce the effects of this happening if you learn to consume healthy snacks such as Florida oranges or grapefruits.

Some people become highly offended when you talk about weight control, but we are not talking just about people who need to lose weight but also those who are only seeking to maintain their current weight. If you choose snacks of Florida oranges you will have an easier time maintaining your weight instead of having to watch the scale and cut back when you find a few pounds creeping on your body in the wrong places.

It is much easier to keep the weight off in the first place than to have to work to lose it later. It’s much easier to eat citrus fruit for dessert than the piece of cake that will go right to your tummy and thighs! Does this mean you have to give up all your favorite desserts in order to make sure you don’t gain any weight? Of course it doesn’t-most people would never bother if they couldn’t indulge themselves once in a while. In fact, that is one of the biggest reasons many people give up on diets that are restrictive and don’t allow for any “treats.”

What you want to do is develop the habit of substituting your usual daily snacks with Florida oranges and save the treats for special occasions. Even if you routinely go out to dinner you should attempt to curtail the desserts you consume and not make it a weekly habit just because you are going out to dinner-maybe treat yourself as a reward for losing a specific amount of weight and going the entire month without gaining any.
