Easy Ways to Eat More Indian River Fruit

Eating healthy isn’t nearly as hard as most people pretend. You don’t have to be a health food fanatic. All you have to do is replace junk foods with ones that are more satisfying and filling. The reason America is headed in the wrong direction when it comes to diet is because most of us aren’t making sensible choices. Of the five major food groups, one of them is almost entirely ignored. Most of us get enough grains and dairy and protein and fats and oils on a daily basis. But we do not eat nearly enough fresh fruits and vegetables.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), only about one-third of Americans consume the recommended two servings of fruit each and every day. Failing to eat an apple a day may not send us to the doctor’s office, but years of bad dietary habits has taken its toll. Obesity is now the leading cause of preventable death in the United States. Chronic diseases that are related to weight gain are all on the rise in America. This includes Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and certain types of cancer. Not only are these serious diseases, they are also extremely expensive to deal with on a national basis. It is for this reason that health care costs have been on the rise for decades now. They now account for around 17 percent of gross domestic product (GDP), which is far more than any other developed nation on Earth spends!
Eat more Indian River fruit!
It should be easy. After all, fresh fruit can be purchased at most supermarkets across the nation! So, the reason we aren’t eating more Indian River fruit has little to do with availability. We aren’t eating fresh comestibles from Indian River groves because relatively new snack foods have largely replaced them. And these treats are not good for us!
A bag of potato chips or pretzels is generally high in fat, salt, and calories. Not to mention the fact that these snacks do not keep us full because they lack vital vitamins and minerals. The best way to enjoy them is with a meal or as a snack and in fresh form. Although they are still relatively healthy, fruit juices and processed fruit snacks are not nearly as salubrious as the real thing.
Indian River fruit can be tossed into salads, cereals, and other common dishes. They are also tasty and healthy ingredients that can be used in cooking. Most of the top chefs feature fruits in some of their favorite dishes. These entries retain most of their healthy properties, even after they are baked, fried, or squeezed.
