Fruit Delivered Instead of Eating Out

Only about one-third of Americans manage to incorporate five servings of fruits and vegetables into their diets each day, which is what the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommends. How do we do that? The best way to add this healthy fruit group to our eating patterns is to do it in its natural form, i.e. fresh. Although the dried, frozen, and canned versions are indeed healthy, something is always lost in the packaging and processing of fruits and vegetables. More often than not, the water is condensed, which results in a much higher sugar content for fruits. That’s why an eight-ounce glass of orange juice has nearly twice as many calories as a regular orange. Not to mention the fact that we burn an awful lot of energy simply peeling, chewing, and digesting fresh fruit delivered.
One of reason why the fruit intake of the average American has fallen dramatically over the past few decades is that we are eating out more than ever, and fruit is not a popular ingredient at dining establishments, especially at fast food joints. Because it is relatively expensive and does not keep, commercial kitchens that focus on volume rather than quality give fresh fruit delivered a wide berth. They do not use it unless they absolutely have to.
Home cooking
The most fruit-friendly meal of the day is breakfast, without question. Fresh, dried, or frozen fruit can be added to cereals, pancakes, and other popular dishes. They can even be consumed as the centerpiece, in the case of grapefruit. Adding fruit at lunch is slightly more challenging and incorporating it into a delicious dinner can be a chore, unless you have a sweet tooth and you serve it with dessert. That is why fruit lovers often have to go the extra mile and are forced to prepare extra portions that they can either take with them to work or enjoy as a snack.
The good news is that fruit delivered really does keep. It can be safely frozen or refrigerated for quite some time. Simply label the container with the contents and the date and enjoy it when desired. Fruits can easily be incorporated into simple dishes to add flavor and healthy vitamins and minerals. In fact, some fruit shipping is specifically grown for gourmet cooking.
Healthy snacking
Because it is a breeze to prepare and is quite healthy, fruit shipping makes a great snack at any time of the day or night. Instead of pretzels, potato chips, or ice cream fruits can be added to yogurt or cereal for a healthy dish that has some zip. Many Americans that worry about their waistlines make or purchase fruit smoothies on a daily basis. Mixing fresh or processed fruit juice with some ice cubes creates a satisfying and salubrious drink.
