Every winter hundreds of thousands of people suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder or the “winter blues”. There are several different factors that can contribute to the winter blues, but eating Temple oranges is one way to help cure them. It’s normal for everyone, even those who haven’t been diagnosed with Seasonal Affective Disorder, to feel a little let down and sad after the busy holiday season is over but Temple oranges are the perfect pick me up when you’re feeling sad. Bright and cheerful the deep orange and super sweet Temple oranges will lift your spirits and give your body the nutrition it needs to stay healthy.

Eating well is a great way to fight off the winter blahs. Many people find that after the holidays when they are no longer eating rich, high calorie and sweet treats that are commonly eaten during the winter holiday sweets they start to feel run down physically. That’s because refined sugar and carbohydrates can be addictive, and when the holidays are over and people go back to normal diets they can go withdrawal from sugar and carbs which leaves them depressed and feeling physically unwell. Naturally sweet Temple oranges, like tangerines and other citrus fruits, will satisfy those cravings for something sweet without the refined sugar so that you will feel better without eating refined sugar.

Temple oranges are a hybrid fruit created by combining a mandarin orange and tangerine so Temple oranges have the sweetness of a tangerine and the easy to peel skin and rich taste of a Mandarin orange. They are one of the best citrus fruits you can buy for snacking because they are medium sized and have a very leathery and loose skin that is easy to peel. Since citrus fruit can hold up well in cold temperatures Temple oranges and tangerines are both perfect to pack for snacks for yourself or your family. You can stick a couple of medium sized Temple oranges in your pockets, or put a few oranges in your backpack or bag for the day and you’ll have a delicious low calorie snack always close by. Eating a sweet and sunny Temple orange at least once a day will help remind you that summer is on the way and will help you fight off the winter blues and stay happy and healthy until summer comes again.
