Using navel oranges, grapefruits and other citrus fruits combined with common ingredients like vinegar and water is a great way to make your own household cleaner. Making your own household cleaner is becoming very popular as more and more people try to save money wherever they can. Have you ever added up how much money you spend on commercial cleaning supplies each year? If you’re like most people you’re spending a lot of money to keep your home clean when you could be using that money for paying bills, saving for retirement, or paying off debt. There are many other reasons to make your own household cleaner too.

Using homemade household cleaner is much healthier than using chemical based cleaner. The cleaners that you can make at home using navel oranges, tangerines, and other sweet smelling citrus fruits won’t damage your health the way that commercial chemical based cleaners can. Pets are especially susceptible to breathing problems, asthma, and respiratory problems as a result of being in close proximity to chemical floor cleaners and furniture cleaners. If you want to protect your pets, and your kids and other family members, you should switch to making your own household cleaner. Cleaning floors with a mixture of vinegar, hot water, and fresh juice from navel oranges is just as effective as cleaning them with a commercial cleaner but the homemade cleaner is not hazardous to you or your pets.

Homemade cleaners made from navel oranges and other natural ingredients is also better for the environment than chemical cleaners. When the residue of those cleaners gets washed away it can end up in the water supply, or poisoning plants and healthy living animals as a result of runoff. When you use natural homemade cleaners the ingredients in the cleaners will naturally break down over time leaving no impact on the environment. You can save money, protect your health, and help the environment by making your own cleansers at home.

The most common homemade household cleaner aside from the vinegar, water, and orange floor cleaner is a multi-purpose spray made from all natural soap, hot water, navel oranges, and baking soda. Melt down a bar of all natural soap, handmade soap is best. Into the bowl with the soap fresh orange juice , vinegar, and a few tablespoons of baking soda for scrubbing and whitening power. Put the whole mixture into spray bottles and use whenever you have a mess to clean up.
