It’s the time of year to focus on getting healthy and getting in shape again after all the holiday indulgences and pink grapefruit is here to help you. Pink grapefruit is a tangy and sweet fruit that is low in calories and packed with vitamins and minerals to help give you energy and keep your body strong and healthy. Pink grapefruit is also stuffed with anti-oxidants which can help you stay looking young and healthy and can also help keep your tissue and muscles strong. If you’re going to be heading to the gym to lose those holiday pounds and get healthy for spring you should always bring some pink grapefruit with you. Drinking pink grapefruit juice or eating a pink grapefruit before and after you work out can really amp up the results of your exercise.

Your body needs minerals and vitamins to run on when you’re working out hard, which is why eating pink grapefruit or drinking pink grapefruit juice or even orange juice before a workout is recommended by professional trainers and fitness experts. When you do that you’re giving your body the fuel it needs to work harder during your workout without causing damage to your muscles and soft tissues or robbing them of the oxygen and minerals they need to stay strong. If you work out without giving your body the nutrients that it needs you are taking the risk of causing serious damage to your muscles and soft tissue, which can seriously derail your plans to get fit and shape up.

After the workout your body is dehydrated and needs to replace all the vital oxygen, minerals and vitamins lost during the workout. Sports drinks that are full of sugar don’t have the necessary vitamins and minerals that the body needs. Pink grapefruit does. Eating a pink grapefruit or drinking fresh juice from a pink grapefruit will hydrate your body while the anti-oxidants in the juice help your muscles and tissues repair themselves. You can work out harder, for a longer time, if you are eating pink grapefruit before and after your workout. Pink grapefruit also has an enzyme that tells your body to burn more fat, so your body will work harder to burn fat even when you’re not working out. Since pink grapefruit have less than one hundred calories per fruit you can eat one before your workout and one after and not be eating too many calories.
