Turn Your Favorite Recipes into Healthy Recipes with Temple Oranges

One of the hardest things about eating healthy is having to give up your favorite foods. But you can eat healthy and still eat the dishes you love if you use naturally sweet and delicious Temple oranges in your favorite foods. Substituting Temple oranges, grapefruit, and other citrus fruits for other high fat or high calorie ingredients in your favorite foods can make those foods diet friendly and still delicious. Plus you’ll get the added benefits of the vitamins and minerals that all citrus fruits have in abundance like Vitamin C, Vitamin B, and minerals like Magnesium and Potassium.

Naturally sweet Temple oranges and other citrus fruits contain Sucralose, which is a natural sweetener found in a lot of fruits. When you eat something with Sucralose in it your body can easily break down that natural sugar and use it for fuel, so it does not get stored in your body as fat and it won’t negatively impact your blood sugar and cause your blood sugar to spike. Refined sugar, even if it’s brown sugar instead of white, is hard for your body to break down. Because your body can’t really break down the refined sugar it will either end up stored in the body as fat or it will cause your blood sugar to spike. When your blood sugar spikes you may have a lot of energy for a short time but very quickly you will feel sleepy and you will want to snack to give yourself energy and that will ruin your healthy diet.

So instead of using refined sugar when you’re making some of your favorite dishes you can use Temple oranges to flavor and sweeten foods and drinks. Instead of adding sugar to iced tea mix a few tablespoons of fresh Temple orange juice into your tea. The orange flavor will give the tea a wonderful kick and it will sweeten the tea naturally. Use the juice and a little fresh grated peel from Temple oranges in sauces to sweeten the sauce and add a light citrus twist. Temple oranges can be used to make smoothies which are great for breakfast. Or, you can add delicious fresh Temple oranges to plain yogurt for a healthy and sweet fruit snack that can also be delicious for breakfast or dessert. Start substituting Temple oranges for refined sugar in your favorite dishes and you can enjoy the food you love and eat healthy at the same time.
