The Ruby Red Grapefruit Diet

We all know that in order to stay healthy and loose weight, it is necessary to eat several small meals a day. Experts tell us that the most important meal of the day is a nutritious breakfast. Adding Ruby Red grapefruit to any of your meals but especially breakfast can help you start the day on a sweet, yet healthy and green way!

Ruby Reds are so sweet that you can skip adding regular sugar and they are seedless too! These plump, thin skinned favorites are a blushing red and dripping with nature’s wholesome healthy juice. You will absolutely love these breakfast staples.

But they are not only for breakfast, you can enjoy ruby red grapefruit with lunch and dinner and you will lose body fat, while strengthening your immune system for the wintery days ahead. They contain Pectin, a soluble fiber that helps reduce the amount of calories stored as fat by improving the body’s ability to metabolize sugar. And if this just was not enough, pectin curbs your appetite to eat less.

There is a 12-day grapefruit diet which gets its name from the number of days you stay on the diet and the grapefruit at every meal. The diet consists of a plan that allows a two-day break after twelve days of diet. It has a meticulous menu to follow for the twelve days you’re on it. These food mixtures are supposed to contain magical qualities that cause fat to drop off the body.

In most versions of the Grapefruit Diet, you can eat a small variety of foods which are required for all meals including bedtime. Here is a sample meal plan:

* Breakfast: 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon, black coffee, 1/2 grapefruit or 8 ounces grapefruit juice
* Lunch: Salad with salad dressing, unlimited meat, and 1/2 grapefruit or 8 ounces grapefruit juice
* Dinner: Red or green vegetables (except starchy ones such as peas, beans, corn, sweet potatoes) or salad, unlimited meat or fish, and 1/2 grapefruit or 8 ounces grapefruit juice
* Bedtime snack: 8 ounces skim milk

Here are some other grapefruit diet suggestions:

* Cut ruby red grapefruit in half, loosen wedges with knife and serve with or without sugar
* Add red grapefruit slices to dark green lettuce, add 1 cup of raspberries, mix 1 tsp. extra virgin olive oil with 1 tbs. red wine vinegar, add it to your salad and toss to combine

So what are you waiting for?! Consult with your doctor for guidance, get your grapefruit, share the good news with friends and family and enjoy all the benefits!
