One of the most popular fad diets to ever hit popular culture is the Grapefruit Diet, and eating pink grapefruit on the Grapefruit Diet is a fantastic way to boost your health and take off a few pounds at the same time. Delicious Florida pink grapefruit tastes great and is much sweeter than the common grapefruit that people think of when they think of grapefruit. Pink grapefruit can be grilled to bring out the sweetness as well as eaten plain or eaten with spices. Fresh pink grapefruit juice is a great drink on its own or you can use it to create delicious and highly flavorful smoothies that are healthy and low calorie. The Grapefruit Diet can be completed a couple of different ways and both have been proven to be successful so the choice of which variation of the Grapefruit Diet is right for you is up to you and your lifestyle. Regardless of which type you pick you should never do the Grapefruit Diet for more than 14 days without taking at least a one week break.

The most common variation of the Grapefruit Diet was proven to be successful by an independent research group in 2004. When you are on this type of Grapefruit Diet you simply eat half of a grapefruit before each meal, and you eat grapefruit for each snack. This goes on for 12-14 days but no longer than 14 days. Low calorie pink grapefruit is perfect for this version of the Grapefruit Diet because pink grapefruit have less than one hundred calories per fruit. But pink grapefruit, like Ruby red grapefruit and other types of citrus fruits like oranges, are full of healthy fiber. The natural and healthy fiber in the pink grapefruit will make you feel full, so when you eat the meal after you eat the grapefruit you won’t want to eat as much. If you eat pink grapefruit for snacks you will stay full longer and not eat so much throughout the day because you will be full and satisfied.
Pink grapefruit are delicious and can also trigger your body to start burning fat, meaning that all that extra fat will be broken down and turned into fuel. The study in 2004 found that just adding one half of a grapefruit to your meals caused people to lose an average of 4 pounds per week although many lost 10 pounds or more.
