Citrus punches made with navel oranges, grapefruit and other light citrus fruits are refreshing and light and are the perfect complement to any get together. Especially during the holiday season it’s a good idea to keep the ingredients for citrus punch on hand so that you can make up a light punch if people drop by. Punch made with navel oranges and grapefruit is also a delicious treat on Christmas morning. You can also serve citrus punches at wedding receptions, showers, and birthday parties. Having a punch is much more festive than just serving soda and making punch is so easy to do that you can do it for any occasion. Here are some great easy punches made with navel oranges and citrus fruits that are appropriate for all occasions:

Spiced Apple Orange Punch – This punch is made with the best flavors of fall and is ideal for Thanksgiving or for holiday parties or fall wedding receptions. Combine apple cider with the juice of some navel oranges, cinnamon sticks, cloves, a little light corn syrup, and a lemon. Heat until the mixture is warm through and serve warm. You can add some apple and orange slices for garnish. Make a second batch and keep it warm in a slow cooker set on low so you can replenish it as your guests drink it. Be warned though you may need to make a third batch because it’s so tasty.

Eggnog Orange Punch – This holiday punch is perfect for holiday parties when you want to serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic eggnog. Serve warm eggnog cocktails at the bar and whip up this non alcoholic alternative for those who choose not to drink alcohol. Mix some store bought eggnog with the juice of several navel oranges, cinnamon, nutmeg. Add at least two liters of ginger ale and mix. To keep the punch chilled you can place frozen orange sorbet in the punch bowl. That will also help keep the flavor of the punch from being watered down by the ginger ale.

Fuzzy Navel Punch – This alcoholic punch is great for brunches, lunch wedding receptions, or afternoon get togethers. Mix a high quality vodka with generous amount of juice from navel oranges or Valencia oranges. Add sugar, some homemade lemonade, and some club soda to create a light punch that packs a punch. Make sure that you use only fresh fruit and high quality alcohol for this punch. If you use inferior ingredients it will show in the taste because the punch is so simple. But when it’s made well, it’s delicious.
