Honeybells are some of the best fruit to use in smoothies and sorbets because they have so much juice. Some Honeybell tangelos can have a full cup of juice or more. Cooking with the juice from these sweet and tangy fruits is a great way to make everything from sauces and marinades to dessert syrups but smoothies and sorbets are two of the most popular things to make with Honeybell juice. Making smoothies with Honeybell juice is easy. Just replace the water in your favorite smoothie recipe with Honeybell juice.

The juice, which is packed with Vitamin C and other minerals, will help boost your immune system and help your body run more efficiently. The extra sweet taste means that you won’t need to add sugar to your smoothie and you can enjoy a delicious sugar free but still sweet treat for breakfast, dessert, or as a snack. Making citrus sorbets is much easier than you might think. Deliciously cool and refreshing sorbets are the perfect palette cleanser at holiday dinners, or you can use them in cocktails and punches to keep the drinks cold and add a concentrated burst of flavor. You can also serve them as a low calorie, healthy alternative to rich holiday desserts. Try some of these delicious Honeybell sorbets at your holiday parties:

Honeybell Cranberry Sorbet – The cranberry will give this sorbet a beautiful color and a shot of sourness to balance out the sweetness of the Honeybell juice. To make this simple sorbet just blend Honeybell juice and cranberry juice or cranberry juice cocktail in a blender. Mix the juices in a pan with a simple syrup of sugar and water boiled together. When the mixture is smooth and has a nice consistency place it in a container, cocktail glasses, or dessert bowls and put it in a very cold refrigerator until it it’s more solid. The final consistency should be a little slushie. Make sure you don’t freeze it or it will turn into a chunk of ice.

Honeybell Ginger Sorbet – This exotic sorbet is a perfect final course at fancy dinner parties, and it makes holiday punches a lot more festive. To make this delicious sorbet mix the juice of one or two Honeybells in a blender with some lemon zest, orange or Honeybell zest, peeled fresh ginger, and a touch of lime juice. Mix all of those ingredients together and then blend the mixture with a simple syrup until it reaches a sorbet consistency. Then refrigerate it until it sets up and serve. It’s just that easy!
