5 Ways to Prepare Navel Oranges

Hale Grove Navel Oranges are amazing and tasty to eat plain as a snack, dessert or with breakfast, but they?re also a wonderful ingredient to use in recipes across the board. Here are some quick, easy and unique ways to incorporate Navel Oranges into your diet and dishes.

1. Breakfast

Orange Smoothie Bowl: Use fresh Florida Navel Oranges in a smoothie bowl recipe with orange juice or coconut water, banana, flaxseed and ice. Top with granola, fresh navel orange slices, banana slices and shredded coconut.

Quinoa Orange Bowl: Cook quinoa in a saucepan with water and milk. Top with honey, vanilla Greek yogurt, Hale Grove Navel Orange slices and toasted chopped pecans.

2. Salads

Spinach Orange Salad: Segment Navel Oranges and serve with mixed greens and fresh strawberry slices, toasted pine nuts, cucumber slices and snap peas with a store-bought balsamic vinaigrette; or prepare a citrus vinaigrette made with fresh navel orange juice from Hale Grove Navel Oranges, olive oil, fresh lime juice, honey and a pinch of salt and pepper.

Asian Salad: Toss together an Asian salad with mixed greens and cabbage, red bell pepper, toasted sesame seeds, Asian crunchy noodles, shredded carrots, Navel Oranges and sliced cucumbers. Add grilled chicken, shrimp or salmon, and drizzle with a store-bought Asian dressing.

3. Appetizer & Beverage

Orange Honey Brie: Warm an 8-ounce wheel of Brie (rind trimmed), and drizzle with honey; serve with chopped Grove Navel oranges and toasted pecans.

4. Main Dish

5. Dessert:

Fresh Orange Cake: Prepare or purchase a pound or angel food cake cake, and top with fresh navel orange slices, orange zest and whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Cinnamon Glazed Oranges: Combine Florida Navel Orange juice, water, sugar and vanilla extract in a saucepan, and bring to a boil to make a caramel glaze. Slice oranges into 1/3-inch-thick slices and drizzle with Navel Orange sauce. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon.
