When do you think to order delivered gifts such as Indian River fruit for the important loved ones in your life? Father’s Day? Mother’s Day? Birthdays or Anniversaries? What about holidays revolved around the family such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukah, Ramadan, Easter, or even Halloween? There are so many occasions where it is appropriate to send a gift that sometimes we forget how simple it would be to just jump online and order a gift instead of roaming the stores, wrapping a present and then waiting in line at the post office.

But how do you choose what to order online and have delivered? Well, wonderful as a box a chocolates sounds, why not try an arrangement of fruits or a basket of fruits for your gift recipient next time? But then you get down to problem of where do you order it from? Well, from the best of course! Indian River fruit has been an age old favorite in the United States and fast becoming one of the world’s favorites. Indian River fruit comes from the Indian River County of Florida, north of Miami/ West Palm Beach on the Atlantic coast. The citrus production in the Indian River fruit belt is by far the most famous but it is also easy to find orchards that offer a vast variety of berries and tropical fruits such as kiwis and mangos as well as more down home American fruit such as pears and apples.

So what type of Indian River fruit would you buy for say Thanksgiving? Indian River fruit orchards have hundreds of options but the best for this type of occasion would most likely be a mix of nuts and citrus fruit. This is the beginning of the citrus fruit main cultivation season (although in Florida it runs all year round). And nuts provide a great atmosphere of warmth and the holidays. Also a big seller this time of year is honey! Florida honey is a perfect add to a basket of Indian River fruit and some nuts to beautiful the basket of goodies.

What about for say Father’s or Mother’s Day or perhaps a birthday or anniversary? It is best to consider not only what Indian River fruit is in season, but also what your gift recipient likes best. Perhaps they are pear lovers, or love to experiment with exotic tropical fruits? Or perhaps they love lunch boxes- so why not send them a fruit basket that is themed around the lunch box. Whatever you choose, it is next to impossible to get it wrong if you send fresh fruit to your friends, family members or co-workers. You are not only providing them with a basket of Indian River fruit, you are also supplying them with healthy options that will brighten their day with the knowledge that you thought of them.
