Healthy Honeybells Can Keep You From Getting Sick This Winter

Fight off colds and flu this winter with delicious Honeybells. Honeybell oranges only come around once a year, from late December to early February. Since they are in season during the peak of cold and flu season eating these juicy and tasty fruits is the perfect way to give your immune system the boost it needs to fight off germs and bacteria. Each Honeybell orange has only around 80 calories and is packed with sweet juice that is chock full of vitamins and minerals that you need to stay healthy. An entire day’s worth of vitamin C plus vitamin A and minerals are all found in just one Honeybell.

Honeybell oranges aren’t actually oranges. They are a cross between a grapefruit and a tangelo, but in shape they resemble an orange and they are a brilliant orange color so most people think of them as an orange. But, they have all the nutrients found in grapefruits and tangerines and have the refreshing taste of oranges. Honeybells are known for having lots of lots of juice, so making fresh and healthy Honeybell juice is easy to do. In fact, two Honeybells can produce as much as eight ounces of juice. You can store Honeybell juice in the fridge, freeze it, or drink it fresh to help boost your immune system and repair the body’s tissues.

During flu season making sure you get enough Honeybell juice is one way to make sure that you stay healthy, but you still need to practice other good hygiene habits to fight off germs. Make sure that you wash your hands frequently, especially if you’re going to be coming into contact with a lot of people. If you ride the train or the subway keep some hand sanitizer gel in your coat pocket and use it often. Public restroom, turnstiles, doorknobs and other elements that are touched by many people are almost always filled with germs. At the office make sure that you clean your computer keyboard frequently with a sanitizing wipe. Studies have found that keyboards have more germs, on average, than toilets.

If you take normal precautions against getting sick, stay home and rest when you start to feel sick, and make sure that you get at least one glass of delicious Honeybell juice each day you should be able to skate right through the cold and flu season without getting very sick.
