DIY – Orange Pomander Decorations
Orange Pomander Balls are fragrant, simple holiday decorations that are easy to make, and add a traditional touch to trees or table tops. Gather the ingredients and a few simple tools, and create some of these long-lasting DIY ornaments to brighten your holiday home, or to share with others this season.
Ingredients and Tools:
- 4 to 6 Hale Groves Navel Oranges (or more if desired)
- ½ Cup whole cloves
- 1 nail or toothpick
- 1 or more rubber bands
- ribbon or string
- long craft needle
Wash and dry oranges. Using a rubber band placed around your orange as a guide, make rings of holes using the nail or toothpick. Insert cloves in each hole to form the patterns. You can also be creative and make spirals, groupings, or any design you like. Once decorated, insert a ribbon or string through the center of the fruit using the long craft needle. Hang ornaments in a cool, dry, ventilated location for 1 to 2 weeks to dry. The dried DIY Orange Pomander Balls should last all season, or longer.
