Similar to the tangerine and native orange, Honeybell oranges are a great-tasting citrus fruit. They are known for being sweet, juicy and the best of all seedless citrus fruits.

The Honeybell orange can easily be mistaken for a tangerine. It has the same reddish color and a very sweet taste. However, the Honeybell Orange is much larger than a tangerine. I suppose if a tangerine and an orange had a baby it would birth beautiful Honeybell Oranges. Though that might be an odd example, it shows the Honeybell Orange has characteristics of both the tangerine and the orange. Though it may have the same characteristics, the Honeybell Orange is not an “orange” at all. The extraordinary Honeybell Orange is a descendant of the tangerine and the grapefruit.

What makes this fruit mysterious and unique is that the Honeybell orange is seedless. The skin is loose fitting. If you held a Honeybell orange in your hand, you could also tell that it contains an extreme amount of juice.

It is stated that the origination of the Honeybell orange begin over 3,000 years ago in Southeast Asia. Now this magnificent fruit dwells in common areas of the United States including Florida, California and Arizona. Florida however, is most commonly named for the growth of Honeybell orange trees.

In fact, for the juiciest, sweetest Honeybell oranges, Florida would be the most likely source. The Florida Eastern Seaboards is where the Indian Citrus Region is located. The Indian Citrus Region houses some of the best citrus fruits. This is primarily because of the ideal environmental conditions. If you observe the climate anywhere else, you can easily determine why Florida is the most likely source to harvest the fruit. The soil is rich and clean, there is a healthy amount of rain and the climate is perfect warm during the day and cooler during the night.

There are only a few unique groves located near the Indian River equipped to grow the fruit, making it very rare. The harvest for the Honeybell orange is approximately 2 to 4 months. The Honeybell orange harvest becomes available approximately in December. The harvest ends come mid-February.

There is a short window of time to enjoy the sweet, juicy Honeybell orange. Remember, for the best results make sure your Honeybell orange was grown to perfection in the sunny state of Florida.
