Ingredients:
- 6 Hale Groves Orchard Fresh Apples
- 3 Hale Groves Cara Cara Oranges
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1½ tsp. pumpkin pie spice
Directions:
- Peel the apples, remove the cores and chop the apples into chunks.
- Zest, peel and section the oranges. Squeeze juice from the sections into a separate bowl.
- Place apple chunks, orange sections, brown sugar, 2 teaspoons of orange zest and pumpkin pie spice into a large saucepan. Add fresh orange juice, then enough water just to cover.
- Simmer over low heat until apples are softened (about 15 minutes). Add butter and stir to combine.
- Mash with a potato masher or pulse in the food processor until you reach the desired consistency depending on how chunky or smooth you prefer the texture. Serve warm alone, over ice cream or oatmeal, with yogurt, etc.
