Simple punches are great for summer parties, but when you’re making simple punches and drinks it’s important to use high quality ingredients because the quality of the ingredients will impact the taste of the finished drink. Indian River citrus fruit is the ideal choice for summer punches and drinks because it’s rich and flavorful and naturally sweet. Indian River citrus fruit is regarded as the finest citrus fruit available anywhere in the world thanks to the unique growing conditions in Eastern Florida. When you want to make no-fuss punches and drinks for summer parties that taste great naturally you have to use Indian River oranges, grapefruit and tropical fruit. Here are some simple to make but super delicious punches and drinks you can make for your next summer BBQ or afternoon picnic:

Creamsicle punch – This refreshing punch tastes like a liquid version of the beloved summer treat that kids and adults both love. You can make this an “adults only” punch by adding vodka or leave it alcohol free for everyone to enjoy. In a chilled punch bowl mix vanilla ice cream, cold milk, club soda or ginger ale, and a large amount of fresh Indian River orange juice. Most of the oranges that come from the Indian River district are used for orange juice, so using Indian River oranges for this punch will really make it taste great. Make sure it stays chilled throughout the evening by adding more ice cream throughout the night, or ice cubes made from frozen orange juice.

Citrus Cooler Punch – There is nothing more refreshing on a hot day than cold citrus juices, and this simple punch is a great way to rehydrate after a long day of playing outside. Simply mix fresh squeezed Indian River citrus fruit juices, both grapefruit and orange, with a large amount of ginger ale or club soda. Garnish with orange zest and slices of Indian River grapefruit and oranges. Simple to make, pretty to look at, and perfectly refreshing this great punch is a summer party staple. It’s also an easy to make and inexpensive punch for summer wedding receptions.

Pink Slush Punch – This frosty punch is supposed to be served with a slushy consistency so chill it in the fridge for a few hours before serving. Mix frozen pink lemonade with fresh Indian River citrus juice. You can use grapefruit juice, orange juice, or a mix of both. Add in club soda and chill until serving.
