Cherry Limeade Recipe

Some flavor combinations seem to be made for each other, like peanut butter and jelly, or strawberries and cream. Another flavor combo that strikes a perfect balance is cherry and lime. The sweet tangy cherries match with the zesty lime to create a refreshing balance. This cherry limeade makes about six servings, and is the perfect drink to quench your summer thirst. Make some today and treat your family, friends, or just yourself. You are sure to love it.

  • 1 pound of Hale Groves Bing Cherries (pitted and cut in half)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • ? cup fresh lime juice
  • club soda or sparkling water
  • lime wedges for garnish

  1. In a saucepan, combine cherries, sugar, and water and bring to a simmer over low to medium-low heat. Allow to simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sugar dissolves. This will make the cherry syrup for the drinks. Remove from heat, cover, and allow the mixture to cool to room temperature (about 30 to 45 minutes).
  2. To serve, fill each glass with ice. Add 4 tablespoons of cherry syrup, 6 cherry pieces, 2 tablespoons of lime juice, one lime wedge, and top with club soda or sparkling water. Stir, serve, and enjoy.
