Ingredients
(For 2 servings)
3 oz of your favorite tequila
4 oz Fresh-Squeezed Grapefruit Juice from our Heritage Grapefruit
2 oz Fresh Lime Juice
4 teaspoons Simple Syrup
4 fresh, sliced Jalapeno rings
(1/8 to 1/4 inch thick)
Ice
2 tsp Chili Powder
2 Tbs Kosher Salt
1 Lime Wedge
Directions
Put tequila into a glass jar and add the jalapeno slices. Cover and refrigerate for 1-hour. Remove the jalapeno slices and set aside for use as garnish. Mix the chili powder and kosher salt in a small bowl, transfer to a small plate, and set aside.
Rim the glasses with the lime wedge, then dip the juice-coated glass rims into the chili-salt mixture on the plate to coat the rims. Fill glasses with ice. Combine jalapeno-infused tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker and add ice. Shake thoroughly, then strain into the chili-salt rimmed glasses of ice. Add one or two of the jalapeno slices as a garnish and enjoy.
Tips
For a less spicy drink, reduce jalapeno infusion time to 20 minutes.
Quadruple the ingredients and make ahead in a pitcher to be ready for a party.
